Started a NEIS course

To help with my Chidlren's music. I've been thinking long and hard about the different things I'm interested in and have decided that that is the one I'm most likely to be able to make a living out of. I still like cooking enough to want to interview chefs. I bought Julie & Julia for my wife as part of her birthday present Saturday, so, y'know, blogging about food is still a thing I think about, but it's just not going to become my focus. haha.

Um, Rach's browning some lamb shoulder right now, I'm not sure what for.

Oh, and I made my first cake the other day! (yes, Id never made a cake before).

It was a vegan chocolate cherry cake. Tasted quite good. Nice and moist. Might have used too much cider-vinegar. I'm not sure who owns the recipe, I'll check and get back to you with it sometime.

i did the NEIS course a couple of years back, im probably not their greatest success story, but compiling a business plan did highlight to me what areas need to be addressed to turn a hobby into a supporting income

Hi Morgan, yeah I believe in the importance of business plans! One `advantage' I have over other musicians in trying to make a living from gigging is probably my nine years of accounting experience! So yeah, initial and then constant (re)preparation, (re)assessment is key to good business practice.
